Happy Monday, friends!
Whew, it has been a while 🙂 Blogging has been one of those major projects that can become a pandora’s box of things-to-learn and possible ways-to-move-forward and prioritize. Hi, I’m Jennifer– I get easily overwhelmed and often just check out when my priorities collide. In truth, I have been a little stumped how I want to approach this blog, so here’s what I’ve come up with..
My life if often like my garage.
Have I totally lost you yet? Background: We have moved twice in the two years we’ve been here in England. After 9 months in our current house, I’m finally digging through and organizing our garage. Oh hey, favorite sweater I wish I’d had all winter! I knew we had more than four bowls! Cleaning out messes like that always leads to finding treasures of some sort, yet I have so much trouble figuring out how to organize what’s not currently needed, purge what is really not needed, and make room for new things… like perhaps a car to actually go in the garage. Now, what does that have to do with my life?
For starters, I take on about a thousand projects at a time, taking forever to finish any given one. The Pilot jokes that my bucket list of projects will outlive our grandchildren. I’m totally crippled by said to-do lists being too long, but somehow I really LOVE list-making and organizing. I know, I’ve lost you now.
Bringing it back to the point, this blog is going to be a bit messy, a bit disorganized, and a whole lot of real life and real me. I think that’s what I need. Maybe it will entertain or encourage someone else. I’d love to make all my obsessive researching and project-ing mean something by helping someone or creating a community for others to enjoy. Don’t worry– I’ll still bring you recipes that nourish your bodies and feed your kiddos good things! There’s just so much more I want to share. Real life and real concerns and real issues I’m researching, be that the perfect toddler activities, nursing covers, or major decisions like whether my family should be eating (or not eating) certain things like those pesky food dyes and preservatives. Oh yeah, I’m also a school psychologist, so I tend to get realllllly into enriching my kiddo’s development. You’ll prob see lots about that, too.
So here we go… and welcome to my garage 🙂 A little mish-mash of my evolving life as a learning mom, preggo, wife to an AF pilot, displaced southerner far from my family, nutrition and workout coach, and as the cherry on top it’s (mostly) taking place in England. Yes, the home of the #brexit and Kate Middleton. All real, all life, all for the Lord.
God Bless and hope I haven’t scared you off from ever reading again! I promise we will have fun 😉
Take care, friends.
